IKEA to Start Construction on First Bulgarian Store in June

Construction work on the first IKEA hypermarket in Bulgaria will be launched on June 3 this year, according to Vassilis Fourlis, chairman of the Board of Directors of Fourlis Group, IKEA's franchise holder for the region. The hypermarket will be located at the intersection of Sofia Ring Road with Bistrishko Shosse Boulevard in the capital.
At the end of last year, the Bulgarian Minister for Regional Development and Public Works, Rosen Plevneliev confirmed that IKEA will have its first Bulgarian store in 2011, adding that the company plans to build a store in Varna and on Plovdiv - Stara Zagora Road.
