A grocery retail chain operator said it will resume its expansion in Bulgaria, frozen due to the crisis last year. This was announced by Vygintas Sapokas, General Director of Maxima Bulgaria, owner of the T-Market network.

"Our short-term goal is to have 50 stores in Bulgaria within one year," said Sapokas adding that currently T-Market chain includes 30 sites in 10 cities.

"We will focus on the bigger cities like Sofia and Plovdiv," said Shapokas, noting that the new outlets will be built on their own land. "We are also negotiating with other companies for acquisition of their stores," said Sapokas.

Maxima’s long-term objective is to open stores in all towns with over 10,000 inhabitants, Dnevnik reported.
