A joint Chinese/Bulgarian industrial zone will be built near Sofia, following the signing of a memorandum of promoting bilateral economic and trade cooperation between Bulgaria and China signed by the Minister of Economy, Energy and Tourism Traicho Traykov and Jin Yonghui, General Director of the Department of Commerce of Zhejiang Province.

The signed memorandum commits each of the parties to encourage and assist Chinese companies to invest in Bulgarian industrial zones. Construction of an industrial and logistics zone is envisaged for Bozhurishte. It will be built on a plot area of 190 ha and is due to become operational in two years.

Earlier this month, four state land lots in the village of Gurmazovo, Bozhurishte municipality, totaling 191.4 ha, were added to the capital of the National Industrial Zones firm.
