27 % decrease in the newly built residential dwellings for the first quarter of the year

According to the preliminary data of the National Statistical Institute, in the first quarter of 2010 the newly built residential buildings were 512 and compared to the respectively quarter of 2009 decreased by 19.0%. The newly built dwellings in them decreased by 26.9% and their number was 3 201.

The largest number of the residential buildings and dwellings has been built in the district Burgas - 94 buildings with 677 dwellings in them, district Varna - 86 residential buildings with 643 dwellings, followed by district Sofia - 51 buildings with 67 dwellings. There was not any newly built building in district Razgrad.

In the first quarter of 2010 the useful area of the newly built dwellings was 240 thousand sq.m or 28.2% less than the same quarter of 2009. The living floor area of the dwellings decreased by 30.7% to 152 thousand sq. m.

The average useful area of a newly built dwelling decreased from 76.5 sq. m in the first quarter of 2009 to 75.1 sq. m in the same quarter of 2010.

The biggest average useful area of a newly built dwelling was registered in the district Silistra - 138.3 sq. m, district Montana - 131.0 sq. m, followed by districts Sofia - 117.8 sq. m and Lovech - 109.0 sq. m and the smallest one in the district Yambol - 37.1 sq. m and district Blagoevgrad - 51.5sq. m.
