By the preliminary data of the National Statistics Institute, the total construction production in May 2010 was 16.6% less than the same month of the previous year.

A drop by 25.2% was registered in the production of building construction, while in the civil engineering production the decrease was 0.4%.

In May 2010, the construction production was 3.7% below the level of the previous month. The production of building construction decreased by 3.1%, while the decrease in the civil engineering production was 4.4%.

In the period January - May 2010, the total production in construction fell by 23.6% compared to the same period of 2009. The overall decline was determined mainly by the negative rates in the building construction, which comprised 59.0% of the total construction production.

The registered drop in the building construction was 32.4%, while in the civil engineering production the decrease was 5.4%.
